Having stayed in pansiyons (B&Bs) for six days in a row, I thought I should treat myself to a little bit of luxury - so I booked myself in Sivas' lone four-star hotel - Buyuk Hotel.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, alright, but the hotel was in the midst of a renovation, so I have to put up with the noise. The redeeming factor was their giving me a HUGE room fit for three people, although it was obvious the workmen have not reached my floor yet (think old carpet, old fixtures).

And why are the hallways and lobby so dark? But I took a peek at the floors under renovation and saw promising signs of more modern and cheerful interiors. Hope it works well for them.

Unique Qualities: Reputed to be a four-star hotel, but needs a lot of work to achieve that status. At least the renovation shows they're doing something.

Hotel's greatest asset: friendly and helpful staff.
