Hazelwood Holiday Park in Dawlish Warren, South Devon is quite pleasant, book early & you will get a discount. There’s a swimming pool and Londis shop which closes at 9.30, the prices are what you would usually find in a newsagents. The chalets are like little bungalows with two bedrooms, a kitchenette and living room with sofa bed. There’s also a bathroom but there isn’t a shower so it’s a good idea to bring an attachment. There’s a fridge with small freezer, table and colour TV, you have to buy your electricity at £5 a go in the form of cards, but sometimes there’s some left over from the previous residents.

Everything is self-catering although there’s a shop further up the road and a chippie. Tokens for bedding are provided, although you will have to bring your own towels etc, there’s two lakes on the park with benches round the edge it costs £14 for a fishing licence, the lake is usually where you will find ducks & geese. At night there’s millions of rabbits, that's why it’s known as the warren.

One of the shops in the warren is called the Medicine centre and has had closing down signs for years, inside there are lots of gifts like rock, postcards etc.

Everyone I seen was wearing an England shirt due to the World Cup, it was great but I haven’t seen anything like it since I got home which is sad. The seafront is about 10 minutes walk away & I will write up about the warren later. There’s a chip shop on site (although I hate chips, because I dislike fattening greasy food), the area reminds me of being in Spain, especially as they have two other holiday camps, and Dawlish Sands caravan park.

Down the road is another shop called Captain Jacks, which is another gifty shop. I will list all the shops in the warren at a later date.

Unique Qualities: The scenary is stunning, and you can also buy your holiday home here.

Price Comparison: least expensive
