The National Museum of the Archaeology, Anthropology, and History of Peru is a rather underated museum in Lima that is well worth visiting. When I visited Lima, the Museo de la Nacion was the most famous of the city's many museums but one should not overlook the National Museum of the Archaeology, Anthropology, and History of Peru. The museum is located in a colonial building. The collection of Pre-Columbian artifacts is rich although the exhibits are not as well conceived as those in the Museo de la Nacion. Like that museum, the National Museum of the Archaeology, Anthropology, and History of Peru was very helpful in that it gave me some insight into the archaeological world of Peru which I had yet to visit it this point in my journey. The museum is located near the Rafael Larco Herrera Museum an it is a good idea to see them both on a taxi tour that can be arranged at your hotel.
Entry to the museum costs $3.00. The museum is open from 9am to 5pm from Tuesday to Sunday.

Directions: In the suburb of Pueblo Libre.
