La Trattoria Lombardi: "Scallop Heaven" Dallas Restaurant Tip by North_by_Northwest

Dallas Restaurants: 252 reviews and 234 photos

Dark, quiet, and shockingly not crowded, this restaurant has the feel of a true Italian trattoria. The building itself seems almost Victorian from the outside, but once inside the brick archways and checkered tablecloths took me a world away from Dallas. The candlelight and bottles of Pellegrino on the tables added a touch of true authenticity.

Favorite Dish: I ordered the fettucine del pescatore with calamari fritti to start. The calamari was decent, above average even, but the fettucine was amazing. I have never truly understood scallops until I had this dish. The seafood was abundant and the marinara sauce perfectly complimented the shellfish without overwhelming it. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. Our waiter was efficient and polite. I truly have not had a dining experience like this since I left Italy.
