"rue Lepic #3 ? beyond to Pl du Tertre" Walking Tip by tiabunna
Walking, Paris: 259 reviews and 495 photos
Further on, rue Lepic becomes rue Poulbot, then it crosses over rue Junot. Where it does so, you will see ‘Le Consulat’, yet another venue with artistic links. This was a meeting place of Van Gogh, Picasso, Sisley, Monet and Toulouse Lautrec. It also appears in a painting by Utrillo ’Le Consulat’, which is in the Pompidou Centre. Take the fork in the road to the right, and continue to the place du Tertre. Should you wish to visit the Sacre Coeur, it is just beyond.
Take note that this is one of the most 'touristy' places in Paris. Depending on when you arrive, the place du Tertre can be extremely busy with stalls (many selling art prints), tourists, and vendors of various kinds. Beware the ‘artists’ who may try to cajole you into sitting for a portrait!
