The historic high street of the Old Town, stretching from the Castle in the west to the Palace of Holyrood House in the east, is now the tourist heart of Edinburgh. Here you will find lots of souvenir shops selling whisky, kilts and tartan scarves, but also a few genuine historical sights - e.g. John Knox's House, St. Gile's Cathedral and Camera Obscura. Take your time browsing around the many shops - it's all part of the fun of the Royal Mile.
