"Institut Royal des Sciences Naturelles" Institut Royal des Sciences Naturelles de Belgique Tip by Willettsworld

I arrived at this museum quite late at about 5.15pm and was let in for free! I just had enough time to see everything before getting kicked out at 6pm, (museums in Belgium tend to shut at 5pm, early I know, so this is one that stays open a bit later), but I didn't get to see the insect hall and crystals and shells. For some reason I couldn't find them despite going up and down stairs a couple of times. Anyway, what I did see wasn't that bad but it's not really a scratch on the one in London but they do have a great collection of huge whale skeletons and mammals. Other areas include a few dinasaur and ice-age animals including a full mammoth skeleton and a mammal gallery.

Open: 9.30am - 4.45pm Tue-Fri, 10am-6pm Sat & Sun. Closed Mondays. Admission: ?4,00.
