This restaurant is one of our favorites- we average eating here about once a week. They have 1/2 price on bottle of wine on Tuesdays which is great. Mondays are half priced glasses of wine and Wednesdays are half priced burgers (always packed).
The owners- cousins Doug and Michael- bring the neighborhood a much needed version of upscale bar/comfort food. The food and service is consistently good. It is the type of place you can go to in shorts and flip-flops but still get a gourmet meal. (They also own Franscas, DOC Wine Bar and Smoke Daddys).
Favorite Dish: Everything is delicious. Joe's favorites are the Beer Cheese appetizer which definately has a kick to it and the Mama-Lou?s Wild Mushroom Meatloaf which is made with beef and veal. He also loves the Jambalaya and has recently discovered the bbq ribs. I am partial to the bbq chicken served with the special wild rice which is a combination of rice, corn, onions, nuts and cranberries. I also tend to get the Wrightwood Salad when I want something a little more healthy. They recently added a flat iron steak which is very tasty. Joe's mom thinks the Ruby Trout is the best trout she has ever had. Save room for dessert- the key lime pie is as good as you would get in Florida.
