"The Astronomical Clock striking the hour" Astronomical Clock Tip by easyoar
Astronomical Clock, Prague: 163 reviews and 260 photos
This clock has probably been hyped more than a Hollywood Blockbuster. The show when the clock strikes the hour is incredibly unexciting, but the crowds can be immense, and you can sometimes hear a ripple of laughter/bewilderment when the show finishes at just how little you get to see happen when the clock strikes the hour.
Basically two little windows open right at the top of the clock and twelve apostles shuffle past. The four figures I describe in my previous tip also move a bit (for instance the skeleton rings his bell and turns over his hourglass). The clock bells chime, and, well that?s about it!
My pictures here show two Apostles in the windows, which are immediately above the clock. There is also a picture of the crowds waiting for the cock chime.
By the way, watch out for pick-pockets, as everybody is looking up, they tend to not be watching their possessions.
