Coast Campground, Point Reyes National Park
by karenincalifornia

For one of the most spectacular experiences for coastal camping, head over to the Coast Campground in the Point Reyes National Seashore. The campground is in a secluded little treeless valley on the east side of a bluff overlooking the sea.

Unique Qualities: The campground is secluded, tent only, walk-in with pit toilets and potable water. The trail to the campground is an easy, flat mile and half walk. Camping is by permit only and permits must be obtained from the Bear Valley Visitor Center before starting your trip. You must have made a reservation in advance to camp within Point Reyes National Seashore. No first come, first serve. No campground attendant.

Campsites may be reserved up to three months (to the day) in advance. To obtain a reservation, call (415) 663-8054 between the hours of 9:00 am and 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday. You may also make reservations in person 7 days a week at the Bear Valley Visitor Center.

Directions: Take road to Limantour Beach. Before getting to the beach, turn south (left) at the hostel. Park on the side of the road near gate.
