"Visit Sharp" Sedgeford Things to Do Tip by leics
Sedgeford Things to Do: 1 reviews and 4 photos
The summer dig in Sedgeford has been running for well over 10 years. It's open to the public every day, except Saturday, from about 11 - 4 and there's a special site tour and presentations on Fridays.
If you visit you'll have a guide, and be able to see what's being done and why, giving you a fascinating insight into how a real archaeological site works.
It's now unlikely that you will see skeletons being excavated, as the site has moved its focus away from the Anglo-Saxon graveyard. But it always remains a possibility on any archaeological dig, so you should be aware of that fact if seeing a skeleton might disturb you. Human remains are always treated with the utmost respect during archaeological digs.
Address: Sedgeford, N. Norfolk
Directions: Ask in the village if necessary, site signed off Snettisham/ Sedgeford road (on very sharp 90 degree bend, so take care).
