I like to stroll around in the Quartier Latin along the Boulevard St Michel, but even more in the narrow streets. There are some lovely shops and many bistros and restaurants .... and many tourist as well.
The Hotel Cluny or Musée National du Moyen Âge is east of the Boulevard Saint-Michel. The building from the 15th century is a nice example of civic medieval architecture in Paris. The museum houses a great collection of medieval artifacts. From the tapestry collection La Dame à la Licorne (The Lady and the Unicorn) in particular is well-known.
Also an ancient Gallo-Roman ruin, the Thermes de Cluny, is part of the complex of the museum. The best preserved room is the frigidarium, the large cold pool to drop in after the hot Roman bath. The caldarium (hot water room) and the tepidarium (warm water room) are still present as ruins outside the museumbuilding.
