Old House

Ghadames houses were deceptively big and had to fulfil a multitude of social purpose.
The large living room was where the family would take its meals, entertain quests and spent most of there time.
Some houses contain strategically placed mirrors throughout the house to reflect the only source of extenal light.
Adoming the walls were painted decorations, including the four-fingered hand of Fatima that was belived to ward off evil.
Another feature of the living room was the large number of decoratively painted cupboards, each serving a specific and carefullty demarcated purpose.
