Frederic Chopin Monument is replica, made in 1957 - 1958, of a sculpture of Wacław Szymanowski created around 1904. The original monument was cast in Paris (it won the first prize in a competition in 1909), but it was officially opened in Royal Łazienki as late as in 1926. This only Warsaw monument in the so called Secesja style, was destroyed in 1940, and then metled in Germany. The present monument was made on the grounds of preserved models and photographs, and it was place on the original pedestal, which outlasted the war.

There are lots of benches where you may take a rest when walking in a beautiful park.:)
