The Cnciergerie is an imposing building on the west part of the Île de la Cité.
At first, this building was the residence of the king's concierges, and in 1391, the edifice was transformed into a prison building and it remained so until the year 1914.
Many important and known persons were prisoners here and many famous prisoners waited here for the execution.
One of those was the Marie Antoinette that waited here 76 days her death.
In 1793, she was decapitated.
The justice palace, the place of the Parisian court, stands now, here in this construction ensemble.
