The Wolcott Mill Metropark also has a working dairy farm as one of the attractions to this park.
The Farm Learning Center has the aforementioned dairy and also other domestic animals to see. The center gives classes and demonstrations on dairy farming to groups and the general public. See below for contact info.
This is not really a recreational area, but there is a picnic shelter than can be rented by a group. If one wishes to picnic, they could do it here, but facilities are sparse.
It may be better to go to the Group Camp Equestrian Center south of the farm on 29 Mile Rd. just east of Wolcott Road.
There is also a golf course called Wolcott Mill that is south on Ray Center Road at 27 Mile Road that is operated by Metroparks and is part of this park complex.
This is a good place to visit if one wants to get out in the country for a few hours and enjoy nature without having to travel very far.
Wolcott Mill is just a few miles from the Farm Learning Center. It is located north of 29 Mile Rd on Kunstman Road.
Please see my tip on Wolcott Mill for more info!
