This once was the place for birders to go to see the Tamaulipas Crow which is a Mexican Crow. Now the crow is very rare in the area and is no longer found here. But there are other interesting birds to see. You are given instructions at the guard shack where you enter and signs point you where to go. When we were here, we went up on a high hill where we overlooked the current dump area. There were thousands of Laughing Gulls there with some Herring and Ring-billed Gulls mixed in. There were also Chihuahuan Ravens, Crested Caracara, Harris Hawks, and Swainson's Hawks here. We watched as a Swainson's Hawk stole food from the Crested Caracara and a chase began. It's an interesting place to go if for nothing else but the sheer number of birds feeding here amid the bulldoziers and garbage trucks.
It closes at 3:30pm so keep that in mind.

Address: 9000 Farm Road FM802.
