"The Bourtzi in Nafplio's Harbour" Greece Off The Beaten Path Tip by Paul2001
Greece Off The Beaten Path: 244 reviews and 267 photos
The Bourtzi is a small fortress sitting on a rock in the harbour of Napflio. It sits on a small island which is more like a rock than anything. The fortress was built by the Venetians in 1473. At one time it was a small hotel however today it does not seem to be used for much at all. You cannot even visit the interior of the fort. Several small launches ply there way back and forth to the Bourtzi throughout the day. I would consider the trip only mildly diverting and not a must-see.
