"El Viejo Almacen (Tango show)" El Viejo Almacen Tango Show Tip by midnight_mike

The music and the dance of the tango are very important to the identity of Buenos Aires and portenos. Historically, El Viejo Almacen is one of the most important tango clubs in the city. But, be warned, this production is 100% for tourists. The musicians and dancers were very skilled. I just thought that it lacked some of the passion which the tango is suppose to inspire. It is also a very pricey show at about $50 per person without dinner.

I suggest asking locals where a better alternative can be found. There is no shortage of people who know how to sing and dance the tango in Buenos Aires. Many of them are bound to be performing at a small club where your wallet will not be ravaged.

If you are not a big tango fan, an afternoon in El Caminito would be adequate.
