On Via Manzoni, at number 12, is the Poldi-Pezzoli Museum, displaying the wonderful art collection of Gian Giacomo Poldi Pezzoli opened to the benefit of the general public in 1881.
The building was originally the home of Gian Giacomo Poldi-Pezzoli and although it was seriously damaged during the war, in 1943, the museum was quickly restored.
Among the numerous painting here are displayed the Madonna and Child by Andrea Mantegna, the Lament over the Dead of Christ by Giovanni Bellini, the Madonna and Child and Lament over the Dead of Christ two painting by Sandro Botticelli or the Portrait of a young woman a masterpiece by Antonio Pollaiolo.
The museum is also housing a collection of firearms, halberds, swords, tapestries, Persian carpets and fragments of Coptic textiles.
