Serafina: "Another good mid-tier Italian restaurant" Serafina Tip by nicolaitan

Serafina, New York City: 6 reviews and 6 photos

We ate in one of four Serafina restaurants, finding good food at reasonable prices. This cozy room features a large wood-burning over and walls with painted murals of food, scenery, etc. The noise level is high. There is a large rear porch with glass roof but unfortunately no view. Service is unsophisticated but helpful and portions are large. Excellent appetizers and so-so salads range from a reasonable $6-14. Pastas are $15-19 and entrees except steak and lobster all less than $25. Of special note - the restaurant is very child-friendly, has high chairs, and will accomodate special requests for younger children. The location is convenient to lower Central Park as well as the main shopping areas including Bloomingdales. Unlike most of the competition, there is no Sunday brunch menu.

Favorite Dish: The thin crust pizzas from the wood burning oven were excellent as were a multitude of pasta dishes. Salads were pretty mediocre.
