Visit Caernarfon Castle.
This beautiful castle was built by Edward I in 1283. In 1284 it was the birthplace of its new English prince - Edward II. According to legend Edward I showed the baby prince to the Welsh announcing that it was 'the native born prince who could speak no English'. Caernarfon castle is actually the nearest Wales has to a royal palace, it has been owned continuously by the Crown since it was established in 1283 by Edward I. The great castle walls are modelled on the walls of Constantinople. In July 1969 it was the setting of the Investiture of HRH Prince Charles as Prince of Wales as it had been in 1911 for Prince Edward. This castle is also a World Heritage Listed Site.
