"Visit the Negro Leagues..." Missouri Favorite Tip by basstbn

Favorite thing: Visit the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City. Its depiction of the life of black baseball players before they were allowed to play in 'the bigs' is more than a great baseball history lesson - its an invaluable study of segregation in America. And you might even run into Buck O'Neill or other living players who played in the league. Next door is another great museum dedicated to Kansas City jazz. Located in historic 18th and Vine district where 30's jazz greats such as Charlie Parker, Count Basie, Bennie Moten and countless others performed in those famous KC jazz clubs.
