This is the View over Alice Springs, as you can see it from Anzac Hill.

In the background you can see the "dent" in the Hills, the Mac Donnel Range. That is the place where the Todd River breaks through this natural Barrier. It is also the place where the Stuart Highway and the railroad line gets out of Alice Springs - The Stuart Highway is the big road you can see in the middle of the photo.

Because of the natural Situation the Highway can sometimes be closed, when it is rainy season and the water of the river is too high.

The way up the Anzac Hill is an easy walk over paved ways, there is also a road up here. Actually it is a good starting point to get an odea of Alice springs and its surroundings. The Hill itself could be nice, but at the time we were there, half the bush and grass was burned down because of a recent fire and on the soil you could see much rubbish and garbage.
