  Farringdon fireshed and trucks

Every Sunday, the volunteer rural fire brigades in our district conduct their weekly radio checks at 0900. By the time all are called by the regional centre and each truck calls back, it is quite a lengthy process. Quite often, the crews will then do some maintenance or brush up on training. Either way, if you are passing by, you can expect to see the fire trucks outside the fire stations every week. I would be very surprised if they didn’t welcome a visit, should you be interested in having a closer look. And yes, because of its regular hour of a Sunday morning, the trip to the fireshed is often referred to as being off to church. The photo shows the trucks at my local brigade ‘Farringdon’, some 20km south of Braidwood.
