Thanks to Frederick Law Olmsted & Calvert Vaux for making it so nice in the 1850s. Many joggers, cyclists, families with kids, lovers, pack the park especially during weekends; trying to escape from the hustle and bustle of New York City life. This is one of the most beautiful civic parks anywhere on earth.
