Bairro Alto, Lisbon: 28 reviews and 62 photos
Barri Alto is really cool area, neat boutiques and creative. Go to "Big Punch" for awesome printed t shirts and more. Ruate do Norte No. 72 in Barri Alto. Chiado is nearby and very nice. Take the tram 28 to S. Jorge castle and that neighborhood. Without the tram, it is not easy to walk up. We walked down though. Also, take the funicular up to Barri Alto at least once, it is definitely a must do. You can take a train to Belem, which is a must do also. You can spend about half day there. Warning. Bread is placed on your tables, if you eat it, you will pay for it. So, just tell the waiter to remove the items placed on the table. If you want to eat cheap, just go to grocery store and buy cold cuts and other food items there, they are extremely good quality. Also, people at night will ask you to buy drugs, just ignore them as a routine, they are harmlesss.
