Fine arts in the streets, São Paulo is just divine
by RafaelTheSecond

There are 4 culture gateways in Brazil, where the top of the top arts meet, and where everything happens. The impressive neo clasical building was built in 1911 by italian arquitects, and ti is located right in the heart of São Paulo city centre, very close to the famous Republica Square and to the famous gardens and bridges of Vale do Anhangabaú. In this Opera house names such as Maria Callas, Enrico Caruso, Arturo Toscanini, Claudio Arau, Arthur Rubinstein, Ana Pawlova, Nijinsky, Isadora Duncan, Nureyev, Margot Fonteyn, Baryshnikov, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Vivien Leigh perfomed, and it was site of a great cultural movement in 1922 called SEMANA DE ARTE MODERNA.

Directions: Close to the fontain and the Light Shopping Centre, beautiful art nouveau building you can find the Opera city hall of São Paulo, known as SAMPA by most of the commuters!
