The Cathedral and the nearby belfry are among Vilnius' most popular sights, so that the square never seems to be empty. The building which partly resembles a Greek temple was built on the site of a pagan temple. Today's looks are from 1801. The inside of the church is also quite interesting as it is richly decorated.
Famous Lithuanians are buried in the church, such as Grand Duke Vytautas and a lot of his family.
