"Rynek Glowny" Market Square - Rynek Glowny Tip by juzz

Market Square - Rynek Glowny, Krakow: 130 reviews and 221 photos

It's the main square of Krakow, it's a beautiful place and you can always find here thousands of tourists. In the middle of this square there's the clothes market and all around palaces, the Mariacki cathedral and restaurant's tables. By night it becomes one of the best squares I've ever seen and at the nothern side you'll find a little flowers market. Perhaps it's a little too "commercial" but it was so nice to see many ladies and girls visiting this woderful town with a flower in their hands.
From the highest tower of the Mariacki cathedral a trumpet plays a simple melody called "Hejnal Mariacki" each hour. But that melody is suddenly broken to remember the sentinel who was killed by an enemy while playing that melody to give the alarm when Tatars invaded the town.
