Lofos Hotel - Plakias: "Family Run Establishment" Crete Island Hotel Tip by janetanne

I have stayed at this friendly hotel/Inn twice before. The owners, Markos and Aspasia Zambetakis, are very kind and polite and the rooms are clean and adquate. The view is lovely from the balconies and breakfast is served either inside or on the veranda. There aren't televisions in the rooms but there is a small fridge for keeping your drinks cold. My room had two single beds which weren't perhaps the most comfortable, but the sheets were clean and fresh.

The price is moderate, I paid 30 Euros for one night, but I was allowed to keep the room until 5pm the next day, something that can be arranged with the owner if they are not so busy. As this was off season the price was also a bit lower than usual. Summer rates are probably around 40 Euros a night, but this is a typical price I've found in many other hotels around mainland Greece.

I would recommend this hotel because of its location, view, cleanliness and helpful owners. Also, it is very quiet there away from the crowded touristic areas nearer the beach.

Unique Qualities: Great View to the bay of Plakias; no noise; clean rooms; very helpful owners.
