There are some long and empty stretches of road as you travel through New Zealand. Driver fatigue can be a real problem so take advantage of the Driver Revivers you see along the way. Free coffee and a moment to get out of the car, stretch your legs and get some fresh air.
This one, on Easter Monday at Lake Pukaki, was the Maximes of Driver Revivers. Not only was there a full range of made-to-order-coffee - espresso, cappucino, latte, mocha - you name it - on hand for everyone, there was organic apple and pear juices, spring water, delicious lamb sausages, fresh fruit - all with a view of the lake, though Mt Cook was shrouded in cloud - it was a regular party. It was sponsored by an insurance company and a coffee firm - and they were doing a great job.
The Driver Reviver you come across may not be so fancy - most are run by local volunteer groups .. so take advantage of a little Kiwi hospitality - and have asafe journey.
