"Look Up A Lady's Skirt!" Statue of Liberty - Ellis Island Tip by johngayton

I've mentioned the US National Park Service several times over the course of my United States pages and in every case I am very impressed with the way that they portray the history, culture and scenery at every park they administer.

It thus comes as a bit of a shock that on my visit to The Statue of Liberty the park rangers put me in a darkened room, drew the curtains back, switched on the lights and let me look up her skirt - WOW - Awesome!!!!

Yep, you could see it all, the way that Liberty has been reconstructed from the inside-out in recent years - the ranger tour inside the monument is absolutely brill and this is totally free, visit the website for details of the access pass.

Address: NJ or NY - take your pick.
