Plaza de Armas Arcades at Night
by neurochic

Along the 3 arcades that surround the Plaza de Armas, you will find many restaurants where you can try out local Peruvian Fare. While you are walking down the arcades you will run into people that will try to get you to come up into their restaurant. The restaurants are located on the second floor of the arcades. The views are amazing from the restaurants and the food is actually pretty good. Here are a couple of local dishes to try: Lomo salada, which is a beef dish over french fries with onions and peppers served with rice. The braised chicken all throughout Peru is exceptional. The chicken is so meaty and tender. Maybe this is what chicken tastes like without hormones pumped in them but its awesome! Also trout is the local fish and whether it is baked or fried, it rocks! We also tried alpaca meat which is a bit gamey but if you like venison you will like it. Also the papa fritas (or french fries) are good everywhere and the limonada(or lemonade) is just the right sweetness.
