Amir's Kabob House: "Afghani Restaurant" Monterey Restaurant Tip by squidly2

Monterey Restaurants: 207 reviews and 387 photos

Only a few blocks from the aquarium, if you've never tried Afghani food I highly recommend it! This is the kind of place where the owner himself will come out and make sure you liked everything. It's not a super-romanitc place but very enjoyable. Decorated with rugs etc from the MIddle East. The food is incredible, and the service is absolutely wonderful!!!

Hours: lunch (with buffet): Tue.-Sun., 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.; dinner, 5-9 p.m. ? Cards: all major ? Wheelchair access: yes

Here's a review by the local paper: (better than what I could write!!)

Favorite Dish: My favorite dish is the bread and of course the kabobs! THe tea is very unusual too - I think it's the best I've ever had.
