"Southern Encounter" City Center Tip by didgeridorien

City Center, Christchurch: 128 reviews and 163 photos

This is an aquarium with 150 species of fish that live in New Zealand. The aquarium is quite small, but what makes it special is the kiwihouse found inside. At the end of your trip thru the aquarium, you can take a tour into the natural habitat of the New Zealand Brown Kiwi. It's dark inside, because kiwi's are nocturnal and they'll be active in the dark. It's really fun to see them walk around there. It's a shame you can't take any pictures.
