"Help to protect the orangutans" State of Sabah Things to Do Tip by hennanights

State of Sabah Things to Do: 198 reviews and 333 photos

Because orangutans have 96.4% of human genes they are susceptible to the same illness as we are such as colds, virus and other nasties such as malaria. It is for this reason that the sanctuary ask that you don't bring in water bottles and mobile phones as these help to spread infectious disease if the apes get a hold of them. Its also a good idea to leave your insect repellent at the counter as this can make orangutans sick if they digest it.
