Orphaned and injured Orangutans are brought to Sepilok to be rehabilitated to return to forest life. There are around 80 apes in the jungle but still you are not guaranteed to see them. We had heard that people had been and not seen a single orangutan. The site has 43 square Km in which the orangutans are free to roam in. There is a chance that you might not see them. Thankfully for us this was not the case. We did however stay for 4 nights at the Jungle Resort so we could visit them many times. On our first visit we were spoilt with about 10-15 orangutans putting in an appearance along with a large group of aggressive but cute nevertheless, Macaques. The second time there were less and the third time we saw only 5.
