One of the most unique accomodation options near Punta del Este. Have stayed there several times over the last 10 years and we keep going back just for the location. While the facilities and service are not 5 star, the location, and the sunsets are definitely 5 stars. They have hotel type rooms available and also 1-3 bedroom apartments (recommended). Best time to go: early March - the weather is still very nice, the summer crowds are gone,and the prices drop considerably. However, if you want to rub elbows with the international jet-set crowd in Punta del Este, then by all means go in January.
CONS: it is 10-15 minutes away from Punta del Este by car. Taxis are available but it is better to rent a car.
