  • The Hensel and Gretel tenements - Wroclaw

You can see two beautiful tenements standing in the West-North corner of the Market Square. They are called "Hensel and Gretel." The houses are connected by a gate. Go through the gate and turn around. You will see an interesting sentence. I am not going to write what the sentence on the gate says. If you are in Wroclaw and visit the Market Square have a look at the gate and the houses.
Beyond the gate formerly stood a church cemetery. Today, the Gothic building of Hensel (Jas) accomodated the House of the copper Engraver and the baroque Gretel the Wroclaw Lovers Society.

You can find a kind of relief on the facade of the Hensel tenement. (picture 2). Look at the picture and write me your interpretation. Under the relief there is a title. I can write you the title If you want to know what the title says or come to Wroclaw to see it.
