Tropical Hotel: "Tropical Hotel" Athens Hotel Tip by Heniko

Athens Hotels: 414 reviews and 444 photos

When I had stayed at the Trpoical in the summer of 1997, it had been going through renovations, so my opinion of this hotel is maybe not so valid.
Seriously, while there half the hotel was closed, leaving only a few rooms opened. As you entered the lobby, the noise and dust of construction was so annoying.
Our room, being nicely decorated, looked woren for worse in its current state; the ceilings leaked and the WC didnt work. We stayed the night, as it was really the first hotel, we could find in Athens that had a free room....and a plus we thought then, right in front of the beach.
We left bright and early the next morning...
I seriously thought we were ripped off by staying that one night, I didnt feel well there, especially for the rate they asked. But hopefully, by now LOL years and years later, they had fixed all their problems...but word to wise, NEVER believe them when they say " construction?..what construction? its just a just touch-ups...." LOL...

Unique Qualities: The structure of the hotel was very nice, even in its renovation stage...the beautiful windy staircase I am sure is beautiful now. Also it is right in the center of Athens busy street and in front of the beach...
