General Agriturismo Info: "Agriturismos De-mistified" Top 5 Page for this destination Tuscany Hotel Tip by rubbersoul75

Agriturismos (I really should say Agriturismi) are basically farmhouses, but even villas, that accommodate guests. They are often very well priced and offer you a truer Italian experience than a hotel.
They range from very rustic and basic accommodations, to classy almost resort like setting. Larger Agriturismos operate thier own restaruants. Usually you can arrange to have your meals, with ingredients from the local lands. When we stayed at an Argiturismo near Cortona we had meals with wine, olive oil, lamb, rabbit, pork, and all vegetables/fruit all from the farm.
Here are the best sites I use to find an Agriturismo:
Specific for Toscana
http://www.agriturismo.regione.toscana.it/index-eng.htm - in English, many properties, great map with regions, I use the map to search.
All of Italy
http://www.agriturismo.com/englisch.htm - I Start with this one, Great Search, and links you to the property websites (if they have one)
http://www.agriturist.it/ - Italian only, but many properties, by state, map showing locations
http://www.agriturismoitaly.it/english/ - English, search by state or city, really good summary
Unique Qualities: Agriturismi offer a unique Italian experience, authentic food, family friendly, and many offer tours of the farm, animals, wine/olive oil production, etc.
Price Comparison: less expensive than average
