I just love looking at architecture and Buenos Aires is filled with gems, many of them along Calle Florida, the main pedestrian shopping street in Buenos Aires. The Centro Naval is generally not open to the public although you might be able to peek inside the lobby. The exterior of the building is covered in a nautical theme, my first picture is of a nude sea god in a Spanish galleon (ship), announcing victory using a conch shell as a megaphone. The building dates to 1914.

This is the first stop on the Calle Florida walking tour in Frommers, located on Calle Florida and Calle Cordoba. The 2nd stop is Galerias Pacifico which I have under shopping, the 3rd stop is the shuttered Harrods which isn't really much to see, the 4th stop is Sociedad Rural Argentina which we missed and at which point I took over the navigation of the tour ;-)
