Florida has a beach flag warning system designed to let you know the beach conditions and keep you safe in the water......

So look for the flag warnings before getting into the water ? warning flags are posted at most major swimming beaches and on the local new channels
- Green means go its OK to swim low hazard, calm conditions swim with caution
- Yellow means swim with caution moderate surf and currents are present
- Red means enjoy the beaches but stay out of the water rip tides are too dangerous
- Double red flag mean water is closed to the public
- Purple (not used everywhere in Florida) dangerous marine live (normally jellyfish)
