  Old Man in the bookshop
by King_Golo

Maybe I've missed the name sign, but as far as I know this book antiquarian shop doesn't have a name... Instead, it has a large selection of old books of all kinds. There's a whole shelf full of Estonian children's books from 50 years ago, other shelves are full of history books, political comments, biographies, you name it. Interestingly, one can also find old German books, dating back to the early 20th century when the town was still called Dorpat and German was a commonly spoken language... I enjoyed the atmosphere of this place very much even despite knowing Estonian.
Btw, just next door (or next room, to be exact), there's a ethno handicraft shop. Be warned, that the smell of incense is everywhere. I became very very sleepy after some minutes...

What to buy: books, of course

What to pay: I believe that you might be able to barter about your purchases, but if not, don't blame me

Address: Rüütli, at the corner of Munga
Directions: central Tartu
Theme: Books

Review Helpfulness: 4.5 out of 5 stars
