"Riverside Accomodation" Huy Hoang Mini Hotel Tip by sieffron

Huy Hoang has two different hotels in Hoi An. I went with the Lonely Planet suggestion and stayed at number 1, down next to the river.
I opted for the standard room and it was a mistake. The first floor room had no windows and remained damp and musty for the duration of my stay in Hoi An. Anything that got wet stayed wet. I really should've switched rooms, but I hardly spent any time there, so I figured it didn't matter.
Rooms on the second floor were more costly and I'm sure they'd be worth paying extra for. There's even a room with river views, and it's $30 per night.
The best feature of Huy Hoang 1 is that it has a terrace right on the river and it's a great spot to eat breakfast or sip a drink. It's also a very convenient location to sights, shops, restaurants, and bars.
Prices listed on the website provided below are high season prices and were slightly reduced while I was there in early November.
There's plenty of good accomodations that are not listed in Lonely Planet and I didn't find the book very useful for Hoi An in general. Big surprise.

Unique Qualities: The terrace on the river is the best aspect of Huy Hoang 1 and if you're willing to pay a little extra for nicer rooms, it's a good hotel. The price for the standard rooms gets you a better quality elsewhere though.
