"Sunset Cliffs!" Cabrillo National Monument Things to Do Tip by lmkluque
Cabrillo National Monument Things to Do: 44 reviews and 155 photos
Sunset Cliffs are on the west side of the Point Loma peninsula. These sandy cliffs can be dangerous when trying to climb down them, they tend to errode easily. They are pretty safe at the top while watching the sun setting. Heed the warning of the posted signs and you should be safe enough
There are a couple of parking lots that are usually full in the late afternoon, when the sun begins to set, but most times a couple of passes through them and you'll find a space opening up. I always do.
To the south of this section of Sunset Cliffs Boulevard is Sunset Cliffs park. The cliffs and the park are not the typical, "well manicured," type of park seen throughout San Diego, but a bucolic setting to enjoy a natural occurrence any evening of the week and it's free.
Address: Sunset Cliffs Boulevard
