Arab Wall, Madrid: 1 reviews and 2 photos

Next to the Cathedral you find rememnants of an Arab citywall dating back from the 9 th century. Its a 3 meter high wall build in flintstone materials and is situated in the parque of Emir Mohamed, the ruler who had founded Mayrit (Madrid) Behind the arrows of the arab wall you see also rest pieces of an early medieaval christian wall. The arab wall is qua signification connected to the nearby Cathedral as Almudena (the Cathedrals called after the Virgin of almedena) means "outher wall" in arab and refrres to thw wall as well as a statue of the Virgin as hadbeen discovered in the 11 th century. The park where the wall is to be found is not really safe at night so better stay away then after sunset.
