Ravello Things to Do: 67 reviews and 145 photos
Villa Rufolo was built in the 13 century for one of the most important Ravello?s family of the time. The same family cited in the Boccaccio?s Decameron.
At the time it was called ?The little Alhambra? for its magnificent gardens, its 300 rooms with frescoes.
During the centuries the villa was owned by many families, and in 1851 was bought by the Scotsman Francis Neville Reid.
It has a very beautiful cloister with columns in Arabic style.
The gardens of the villa are famous for their beauty and for the magnificent view over the coast an the towns of Maiori and Minori.
This is the exact garden that gave Richard Wagner the idea of the magical "Klingsor" Garden
