Favorite thing: Everyone knows that the Park Hyatt Tower (at 800 N. Michigan) is tall, but I think you only realize how tall it really is when you approach it from the northwest and you can see it in (somewhat) isolation.
Actually the hotel takes up only 15 stories of this 70 story building. The rest is devoted to condos! But the hotel is very lux. I'd love to stay there if someone else were paying!
Interesting fact to know and tell: this building is purely poured concrete: no steel frame! Designed by Chicago architect Lucien Lagrange, it tops out at 844 feet, making it (as of December 2006) the tenth tallest building in Chicago.
